The Official Opposition Conservative Party has announced the Shadow Cabinet

Bob Zimmer, Member of Parliament for Prince-George-Peace River-Northern Rockies, has been named the Shadow Minister for Northern Affairs and Northern Economic Development Agency.

In a release, Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer says they are united, experienced, and focused on replacing the Trudeau Liberals.

“The Shadow Cabinet I have announced today reflects the growing strength of our team and our commitment to work for Canadians from coast to coast.”

Zimmer has served as an MP since 2011, and has held several positions in that time, including Chair of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics; Co-Chair of the Parliamentary Outdoor Caucus; and Chair of the BC/Yukon Conservative Caucus.

Zimmer says in the release that he’s honoured to serve in the Shadow Cabinet.

“I was born and raised in the North and I look forward to continuing to be a strong advocate for Canada’s northern communities with this new role and holding the Liberal government to account on issues that affect Canadians living in these regions.”
