Canucks bounce back from first loss of season

After suffering their first loss of the season on Thursday, the Dawson Creek Canucks got back into the win column on Friday night.

Braeden Allkins’ second goal of the night at the 36 second mark of overtime gave the Canucks a 7-6 win in Grimshaw.

Brett Norman also scored twice for the Canucks, while Matt Schmermund, Evan Weaver and Ethan Buck added singles.

Josh Peters and Tyler Brenner scored twice each for the Huskies, while Ty Wiebe and Alan Mazur added singles.

Also on Friday night, the Falher Pirates won their second straight, hammering Manning 13-2.

Kris Desjarlais scored four times, while Pat Rowan added a hat trick for the Pirates. Darren Kramer and Trevor Tokarz added two goals each, while Marco St. Pierre and Dakota Conroy added singles.

Josh Rutherford and Brendan Baumgartner replied for the Comets.
