Local film maker receives funding for web series pilot
A local filmmaker is one of 40 chosen to receive funding from the TELUS STORYHIVE service.
Mariah Braun, a filmmaker based in Grande Prairie, says the $20,000 in funding will be used to create the pilot episode of a web-series, following another local woman, called Life Without Diagnosis.
“She recently has gone through some pretty big health challenges which has made her, kind of have to change her lifestyle quite drastically. She is somebody who is quite connected in our community, has a huge entrepreneurial spirit, hard-working lady, and suddenly she’s had neurological issues that have forced her to kind of put aside her career, and kind of just focus on life.”
The pilot episode will be uploaded, and two of the submitted pilots will be picked up and fully produced to be featured on the STORYHIVE.
