Grande Prairie man charged in stolen property investigation

Dec 2, 2019 | 4:38 PM

Grande Prairie RCMP say a tip about stolen property being stored at a city residence has led to charges against a 46-year-old man.

The tip came in earlier this fall.

A search of the home on Saturday turned up a rifle, ammunition and just under 20 grams of methamphetamine. Police seized another rifle and three bicycles after searching a garage

Mounties have charged Joey Macdonald with three counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, and one count each of possession of a stolen firearm, unsafe storage of firearms and ammunition, possession of stolen property under $5000, and possession of a controlled substance.

He is due in court December 4.
