Alberta Health Services launches Toys for Tickets campaign
Alberta Health Services officially launched its Toys for Tickets campaign, which gives people who’ve recently received an AHS-issued parking ticket an opportunity to donate a new unwrapped toy rather than pay the fine.
“The campaign was so successful last year in Calgary and Edmonton that we decided to expand it this holiday season across the province, including at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Grande Prairie and Fort McMurray’s Northern Lights Regional Health Centre,” said David Ponich, Director of Capital Management, North Zone. “In keeping with the spirit of the holiday season, we felt this is a good way to give back and make some of our patients’ time in hospital a little brighter.”
Parking Services will be accepting toy donations as an alternative for tickets that were issued between November 1 and November 30.
Those who are interested in taking part in the Toys for Tickets campaign are asked to purchase a toy with a value of at least $25.
