Human remains found near Red Earth Creek

The RCMP Major Crimes Unit are investigating a homicide, following the discovery of human remains on Wednesday, December 4 near Red Earth Creek.

High Prairie RCMP were informed by a citizen at around 4:00 p.m. that day that the body of a deceased male was found just off Highway 88 near Red Earth Creek. An autopsy conducted on Friday at the Chief Medical Examiner’s office in Edmonton confirmed the cause of death to be a homicide.

The identity of the victim has not been released.
