Ernie’s Sports Major Midget Storm:

The Red Deer Optimist Chiefs defeated the GPAC Ernie’s Sports Major Midget Storm 3-0 at the Coke Centre on Sunday..

The Chiefs had goals from goals from Cash Regan, Mark James and Silas Buijs in the 3-0 win, while Logan Breen turned away 23 shots picking up the shutout.

The Storm are back in action next Saturday and Sunday for a double header in Calgary. They’ll face the Calgary Northstars on Saturday followed by the top team in the AMHL, the Calgary Buffaloes on Sunday.

Boston Pizza Minor Midget Storm:

The Maple Leaf Athletic Club Go Logo Leafs defeated the Storm 5-3 on Sunday as they picked up their first win of the season.

The Storm jumped out to a 2-0 first period lead, with goals coming from Brody West and Ty Doucette.

In the second period it was the Leafs who were able to gain some momentum and get on the board. Cole Gilbert and Caleb Thompson picked up goals in the second frame making it 2-2, but with under a minute to go, the Storm’s Tyson Buchan was able to regain the lead, scoring with 57 seconds left in the second period to make it a 3-2 game.

In the third period the Leafs found their scoring touch. Gilbert would tie the game with 4:44 left in the third period. 42 seconds later, Carter An would add the go-ahead goal to make it 4-3 Leafs with 3:02 to go. Benjamiin Ferguson would add an empty netter giving the Leafs the victory.

The Storm will travel to St. Albert and Edmonton next week, as they will match up against the St. Albert Flyers and the South Side Athletic Club.

Peace Country PCFAC AAA Storm:

The PCFAC Midget Elite Storm fell to the Lloydminster Elite Steelers 3-1 on Sunday.

The Storm would strike first. Kaitlyn Sandul would score 5:52 into the period to put them up 1-0. Arilyn Toews and Vanessa Lagace would pick up the assists.

The Steelers would battle back in the second period. Elyssa Selte scored the opening goal. She led the way for the Steelers with a goal and an assist for two points on the day.

Lindsey Wakefield would score a third period goal to make it 2-1 Steelers 5:24 into the period.

Asha Petrie would seal the victory with an empty netter.

The Storm will travel to the Edmonton area next week for three games that feature St. Albert, Leduc and Sherwood Park.
