Sangudo drug charges against Grande Prairie man withdrawn

Dec 12, 2019 | 4:30 AM

Alberta Justice says charges against two people arrested in a drug bust in Sangudo, one of them a man from Grande Prairie, have been withdrawn.

The seven charges against William Raymond Blackwood of Grande Prairie and Sonja Marie Susan Sanders from Edmonton included four of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.

The charges were withdrawn in Stony Plain court December 9, the same day they were to stand trial.

They were arrested after a search of a Sangudo home by Mayerthorpe RCMP on February 18, 2019, turned up fentanyl, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, a stolen side-by-side and two snowmobiles police also thought were stolen.
