Nitehawk Adventure Park looking for bounce back 2020 season

Dec 15, 2019 | 5:30 AM

The Nitehawk Adventure Park is trying to make up for a cold and frigid 2019 ski season. Last year the club was closed for 20 days in February due to an extreme cold system that made its way across the region.

The summer wasn’t much better for the club, as in July and August the Bike Park and Aquatera Summer Slide were only able to stay open for 11 days out of the two months due to the high amount of rain that the region received.

However, this year the club is getting some better news and are excited to bounce back. All ski runs are now operating, and the club opened a week ahead of when they opened last year, and snowmaking has gone nonstop.

Assistant General Manager of the club Johnathan Clarkson told EverythingGP there have been some improvements to the grounds this year.

“We’ve got brand new LED lightning throughout the entire hill, which will make a difference for people who enjoy night skiing.”

Clarkson also mentioned that the club will have extended hours for the Christmas season.

“We’ve got extended hours for the entire Christmas break. We’ll be open every day except for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We are even open New Years Eve and New Year’s Day.”

On New Year’s Eve night, the club will be hosting their sixth annual Fresh Air New Year’s Eve event. The club will have fireworks, horse and sleigh rides, along with many specials on lift tickets and rentals. Last year close to 500 people showed up for the event.

From December 20 to January 5 the club will have their Christmas hours in full operation most days from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. except for Friday where the club will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
