Tenille Townes to be recognized by Rotary Club of Grande Prairie

Dec 17, 2019 | 5:08 PM

Tenille Townes will be recognized for her community involvement and support Friday, December 20, 2019.

The Rotary Club of Grande Prairie will be presenting Townes with the Paul Harris Fellow honour at the Rotary Club’s Dream Home.

The Paul Harris Fellow recognizes individuals who have contributed or have contributions made in their name of $1,000 to the Rotary Foundation.

The Paul Harris Fellow began in 1957 to show gratitude for contributions that support the Foundation’s Annual Fund, PolioPlus, or an approved Foundation grant.

The Rotary Club will be contributing the funds in Towne’s name.

Townes recently held the 10th anniversary of her Big Hearts for Big Kids fundraiser for Sunrise House youth emergency shelter.

President of the Rotary Club of Grande Prairie Steve Madden says “We wish to recognize the tireless fundraising efforts of Tenille Townes in our region. It really exemplifies what Rotary stands for, so we think this honour is quite appropriate”.

Tenille Towne’s mother will stand in for her at the event and says both she and Tenille are “honoured and excited.”
