Fairview, Falher winners in Friday night local hockey action

Kyle Cairns scored twice and added an assist, while Eric Dentinger had a goal and two helpers as the Fairview Flyers dumped the County of Grande Prairie JDA Kings 6-1 in Friday’s lone game in the NWJHL.

Zacheri Schlachter, Thomas Dechant and Rylee Hebert also scored for the hosts, who moved to within two points of second place North Peace with the victory.

Keaton Mercredi replied for the Kings, who fell to 10-13-2 with the loss.

The final night of league play before the Christmas break sees just one game on Saturday, as Dawson Creek is in Sexsmith to face the Sundown Oilfield Services Vipers.

NPHL saw just one game as well on Friday, as Morgan Maclean and Kris Desjarlais each scored twice as the Falher Pirates beat the Manning Comets 7-2.

Dallas Brochu, Dakota Conroy and Hector Lamouche also scored for the Pirates, while Josh Rutherford and Brendan Baumgartner replied for the Comets.

Grimshaw is in Falher Saturday night in the last game before the NPHL Christmas break.
