NWJHL, NPHL return to action from Christmas break

All six NWJHL teams saw action in the league’s first night of play since the Christmas break.

In Fort St John, Gary Loewen, Alex Nimmo and Jared Winkel each had a goal and an assist as the league leading Huskies dumped the County of Grande Prairie JDA Kings 6-4.

Ivan Jasbec, Dean Whitcomb and Logan Kimmie also scored for the Huskies, while Bailey Hartman, Geoff Dick, Blake Gillingham and Tanner Davy replied for the Kings.

In Peace River, Robert Lemay scored twice and added two assists as the North Peace Navigators doubled the Sundown Oilfield Services Sexsmith Vipers 6-3.

Dawson Gour, Dylan Bellerose, Lochlan Willis and Phoenix Dumas also scored for the Navigators, while Ty Deleeuw, Tanner Vinck and Clint Lefley replied for the Navigators.

Finally in Dawson Creek, Dawson Bahm scored twice and added an assist as the hometown Junior Canucks doubled up Fairview 4-2.

Mason McLeod and Chase Henrickson also scored for the Junior Canucks, while Kyle Cairns and Cale Fox replied for the Flyers.

Meanwhile, the NPHL returned to action with one game, as Bryce Lipinski and Tyler Hartman each scored twice as the Grande Prairie Athletics knocked off Manning 8-2.

Parker Sharp, Kelvin Neustaeter, Braden Crone and Morgan Eaton also scored for the Athletics, while Dave Lawrence and Taylor Paulowich replied for the Comets.
