Ernie’s Sports Major Midget AAA Storm:

The Ernie’s Sports Storm finished their road trip Sunday with a 5-2 win against the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers.

The Storm were led by Nolan Flint, who finished with two goals on the game. Hudson Foley, Kaden Reinders, Austyn Hansen and Campbell McLean all had two-point nights in the victory. Goaltender McCoy Bidewell made 31 saves in the win.

Following the win, the team remained in second place in the Dodge Division with 31 points. The win propels them six points up on the Lloydminster Bobcats.

The Storm will return home to take on the Okotoks Oilers this Saturday at the Coke Centre. Puck drop for the games is at 12:00 p.m.

Boston Pizza Minor Midget AAA Storm:

The Storm suffered their fifth straight loss Sunday, falling 6-1 to the Maple Leaf Athletic Club.

The Leafs started the scoring 2:54 into the first period thanks to a goal from Rhys Kleinmann.

They would go onto add five more in the victory. Tyson Buchan scored the lone goal for the Storm in the loss.

The team sits in 11th in the North Division with 11 points, just one point up on the Leafs.

The Storm are off this weekend. They’ll return to action January 18 when they host the Canadian Athletic Club for two straight games at the Chris McMillan Rink in Clairmont.

Golden Arrow Bantam AAA Storm:

Following their 2-2 tie with the Maple Leafs Athletic Club on Saturday, the Storm traveled to Spruce Grove to face the Parkland Athletic Club Saints.

Kaden Wolitski and Tanner Churchill both added goals in the first period to make it 2-0 for the Saints after 20 minutes.

Carter Hensch would get the Storm on the board in the second period to cut the lead in half. Hensch would add his second of the game early in the third to tie it.

But with just 35 seconds remaining, Cole Bradley would sneak the game winner passed Nathan Crawley to give the Saints the 3-2 win.

The Storm are off from league play until January 25 when they travel to play the Southeast Athletic Club Tigers in Medicine Hat.
