Heat tape determined as cause of home fire near Wembley Sunday morning

No injuries have been reported as a result of a fire at a mobile home near Wembley on Sunday morning.
Wembley, Beaverlodge and County fire crews were called out around 7:12 a.m. yesterday to a home on Township Road 722, near Range Road 85.
Crews found flames and smoke coming from underneath the home upon arrival to the scene. Firefighters worked quickly and were able to keep the blaze to the underside of the home, keeping it from spreading to the living space.
The County Fire Marshall determined the cause of the fire was heat tape on a pipe underneath the home, which is intended to keep water lines from freezing.
