Alberta Fish and Gaming Association urging anglers to attend province-wide consultations
The Alberta Fish and Game Association is urging all Anglers to attend a series of upcoming public engagement sessions in eleven communities throughout the province, and beginning in Grande Prairie on Monday, January 13.
The Alberta government says that they want the public’s perspectives about fisheries and their management, with a particular focus on increasing recreational fishing opportunities across the province.
“The biggest challenge right now is the opportunity to angle. It appears that over the last number of years, for example just keeping a fish is not as easy to do as it has been in the past,” said Darryl Smith, the Provincial Fish Chair for the Alberta Fish and Game Association.
Smith also went onto say that sessions like this haven’t been common for a long time, and they have decreased significantly over the last decade.
