Jan 11, 2020 | 5:17 PM

All of Northern Alberta, the Peace Country included, is no under an extreme cold warning.

Environment Canada says wind chills could reach -40 throughout the coming week and into next weekend.

The B.C. side of the Peace is under a similar warning.

Back in Alberta, nearly every area north of Red Deer and Rocky Mountain House has an extreme cold warning in place.

The weather office says there may be some relief from the wind-chill during the afternoon hours.

It is also cautioning people to watch for cold-related issues like chest and muscle pain, shortness of breath, and numbness and colour change in extremities.

They add outside workers should take regular breaks to warm up and that if it is too cold outside for people to stay outside, it is likely the same for pets.
