Fire breaks out at south side home Wednesday morning

A fire broke out in the attached garage of a home in the Country Club West neighbourhood early Wednesday morning.

The Grande Prairie Fire Department was called out to the fire on 99 Street, near 66 Avenue, around 2:10 a.m. on January 15. Crews found the garage fully engulfed in flames upon arrival but were able to keep the blaze from spreading to neighbouring homes.

No injuries have been reported, and the extent of the damage to the home was not made immediately available. The Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the blaze.

The fire department adds in a release that the extreme cold temperatures did not hinder their operations.
