Athletics win goaltender’s duel

The goalies were the stars of Saturday’s NPHL matchup between the Grande Prairie Athletics and the Manning Comets.

A total of 92 shots on goal were recorded between the two teams, but only three found the back of the net as the Athletics edged the Comets 2-1.

Braden Gamble made 50 saves in the Comets goal, only allowing goals to Lyndin Lewis and Bryce Lipinski.

At the opposite end, Kenton White was not to be out done, making 39 saves and only allowing a goal to Brett Nickerson.
