B-C teams enjoy strong night in NWJHL

The Dawson Creek Junior Canucks moved into sole possession of second place in the NWJHL with a 5-1 win in Peace River over the North Peace Navigators.

Dayton Nelson scored twice for the Junior Canucks, who scored five consecutive power play goals after North Peace opened the scoring.

Raymond Prive, Mason Ducharme and Keegan Kemper added singles for Dawson Creek, while Cole Isaac had the lone goal for the Navigators.

The other game Saturday night saw Fort St John hammer Fairview 10-2.

Dean Whitcomb recorded a hat trick for the Huskies, while Brady Marzocco and Connor Kindrat each added a pair.

Nick Loewen, Jared Loewen and Jared Winkel added the other goals for Fort St John, while the goal scorers for the Flyers were not available.

There are two games on tap for Sunday, including the County of Grande Prairie JDA Kings hosting Dawson Creek in a 3 pm start at Crosslink County Sportsplex.

The other game sees Fort St John hosting North Peace.
