Three charged after theft from oilfield northwest of Manning

Three people are facing charges after a theft at an oilfield site near the Chinchaga Forestry Road, northwest of Manning.

On January 20, RCMP got a complaint of a theft at the oilfield site that involved the theft of copper and generators and damage to equipment. The value of the stolen items and damages are an estimated $12,500.

A suspect vehicle was located by Manning RCMP with help from the employees of the site, and the three occupants were arrested. A search warrant for the vehicle resulted in the recovery of the stolen property.

Twenty-nine-year-old Tyler Horne of Hinton, 42-year-old Lawrence Morrison of Fairview, and 45-year-old Amy Niiranen of Bluesky are jointly charged with:

  • Theft over $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Possession of break-in instruments

All three were released with conditions. Morrison is to attend Peace River Provincial Court on February 3, while Horne and Niiranen are to appear in Peace River Provincial Court on March 2.
