County is asking for public input on a new website

Jan 23, 2020 | 1:03 PM

The County of Grande Prairie is seeking public input on the development of a new website.

A five minute survey has been launched at the County’s current website, which will gather the public’s input on how to meet information, service, and engagement needs of the public, including businesses, community groups, visitors, and other stakeholders.

The input will allow the County to see what is working on it’s current website, how it can be improved, and what other online services should be made available in the future.

“As a Council, we recognize a lot has changed since last updated the County’s website in 2012,” says Reeve Leanne Beaupre in a release. “With more and more residents relying on an online connection to their municipality, we want to ensure our new website is functional and welcoming for users.”

The County has partnered with a Canadian public sector website developer, eSolutions, to build and launch the new site later this year.

In the release, Communications Manager Lesley Nielsen-Bjerke says the survey is just the first step of the engagement process.

“Interested individuals are encouraged to visit our website for opportunities to sign up to share their thoughts at upcoming focus groups.”

For those that don’t want to fill it in online, hard copies of the survey are available at the County Administration and Community Services buildings and at the Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) Offices.

The survey is open until February 13, 2020.
