Drugs found after vehicle stopped for stolen license plate

Drugs and stolen property have been seized by Grande Prairie RCMP as a result of a traffic stop on Monday.
RCMP say just after 9 p.m. on January 27, Traffic Unit officers stopped a vehicle in the City after it was found to have a stolen license plate on it. The male driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, was taken into custody without incident.
Police add that as they searched the vehicle, 22 grams of suspected meth and around $1,000 cash were found.
The driver, who was not named by authorities, now has charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 pending against him.
