Impaired driving charges pending following Monday night collision
A male driver is facing pending impaired driving charges, as well as a pending charge under the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act, after being involved in a two vehicle collision on Monday night.
On January 27, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Grande Prairie RCMP received reports of a collision at the intersection of 100 Street and 97 Avenue. Upon arrival of the scene, officers found a heavily damaged four door Honda Accord. It had collided with a Kenworth dump truck and trailer, loaded with snow, which had minor damage.
An investigation into the collision determined that the dump truck had been turning eastbound onto 97 Avenue from southbound 100 Street, when it was struck by the northbound Honda.
An infant child was in the Honda at the time of the accident. She was released to her mother on the scene, and neither she, nor the two drivers, suffered any injuries.
