Feb 3, 2020 | 10:55 AM

Fort Saskatchewan Rangers @ Major Midget AAA Ernies Sports Storm

The Ernie’s Sports Storm fell 3-1 at home to the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers Sunday afternoon.

After a scoreless first, the Rangers would get on the scoreboard early in the second to go up 1-0.

The only goal for the Storm would come with 3:36 remaining in the second period from Hudson Foley to tie the game up at 1-1.

Fort Saskatchewan would retake the lead with 46 seconds left in the second, and wouldn’t look back.

The Rangers would add an empty netter late in the third period to take the 3-1 victory.

The Storm sit second in the Dodge Division with 35 points, and they have three games remaining on the season.

Next weekend they’ll travel to Okotoks and Calgary. A win by the Storm will see them clinch home ice for at least the first round of the playoffs.

KC Centennials @ Minor Midget AAA Boston Pizza Storm

Following their big 5-4 victory on Saturday, the Minor Midget AAA Boston Pizza Storm fell 6-2 to the KC Centennials from Edmonton.

Tyson Buchan and Rhys Doyle would score the only goals for the Storm in the loss.

The Storm will travel to Edmonton next weekend for a double header. They will face the Canadian Athletic Club on Saturday, and the Leduc Oil Kings on Sunday.

The Storm sit last place in the AMMHL standings with 15 points.

Southside Athletic Club Lions @ Bantam AAA Golden Arrow Storm

Following a tight checking 2-2 tie Saturday, the Golden Arrow Storm were back in action for the rematch Sunday against the Southside Athletic Club.

The Storm got off to a great start with a three goal first period, and they didn’t look back as they would score two more early in the second and go on to win the game 5-4.

Spencer Rheaume would end up having a three-point day in the victory.

They’ll travel to Edmonton next week for a pair of games against Leduc and Sherwood Park.

The Storm now sit in a tie for second place in the Nitro North division with the Southside Athletic Club with 30 points.
