WestJet adds Dawson Creek to its flight network

Feb 7, 2020 | 9:48 AM

WestJet has announced it will be adding another Peace Country destination to its network.

Beginning April 26, WestJet will begin offering a daily, round-trip flight between Calgary and Dawson Creek, in partnership with Pacific Coastal Airlines.

The company says in a news release the daily flight will leave the Calgary International Airport at 1:15 p.m. daily, and arrive at YDQ 2:19 p.m. pacific time. The return flight to Calgary will then leave Dawson Creek at 2:50 p.m. pacific.

“The City of Dawson Creek is pleased to welcome WestJet to our community,” said Dawson Creek Mayor Dale Bumstead, in a news release. “Dawson Creek is the hub of economic opportunity in the South Peace Region and WestJet service will further enhance these opportunities by providing our airport with additional destinations.”

WestJet will join Central Mountain Air as the only other provider out of the Dawson Creek Regional Airport. CMA currently offers services only to Prince George from the Mile Zero City.

Dawson Creek becomes WestJet’s 72nd destination out of Calgary, which has been the company’s home and hub since it began operating in February of 1996. WestJet says in the release that by June 2020, the airline will operate more than 1,000 flights per week in peak season out of the Calgary International Airport.
