Despite three goals from their power play on Friday night, the Grande Prairie Storm fell just short in the opener of their three game in three night road trip.

Kadyn Chabot and Colson Gengenbach scored in the shoot out as Drayton Valley pulled out a 5-4 win over the Storm.

Affiliate call up Owen Dean had a goal and an assist for the Storm, as did veterans Lukas Konashuk and Brendan Kwiatkowski.

Ethan Strang had the other goal for Grande Prairie, while Lars Kaliel made 30 saves in net.
