Pig barn fire in the County of Grande Prairie

The County of Grande Prairie says several animals were lost, but hundreds more were saved, in a pig barn fire Tuesday.

County fire crews from three stations were called out at 11:15 a.m. to the barn located on Highway 674 between Range Roads 41 and 42.

Flames were visible when firefighters arrived, but they kept the blaze from spreading to the rest of the barn or any other buildings.

The cause is still under investigation.
