NPHL semi finals kick off

The top two teams during the North Peace Hockey League regular season continued their dominance as the league semi finals began on Saturday.

In Grande Prairie, Adam Boytinck recorded a hat trick to lead the Grande Prairie Athletics to a 4-1 win over the Manning Comets in their series opener.

Riley Jebb had the other goal for the Athletics while Brendan Baumgartner replied for the Comets.

And in Dawson Creek, the regular season champion Canucks defeated the Grimshaw Huskies 4-1 in their semi final opener.

Braeden Allkins scored twice for the Canucks, with Reid Campbell and Wesley Shipton added singles.
