High Prairie RCMP lay 24 charges against one man

High Prairie RCMP have charged 24-year-old Jericho Grey of Whitefish Lake First Nation with 24 charges following a result of six separate investigations.

Grey was wanted on a Canada wide warrant for statutory release violations along with numerous warrants on other matters in various police jurisdictions.

RCMP located Grey on February 12th and attempted a traffic stop; however, Grey fled from police to a residence in Whitefish First Nations. A short time later, he was located and arrested without incident.

Grey is charged with the following:

• Assault with a weapon

• Assault

• Flight from police (x3)

• Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle (x2)

• Forcible confinement

• Obstructing a peace officer (x2)

• Unauthorized possession of a firearm (x3)

• Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose (x3)

• Unsafe storage of firearm (x3)

• Possession of a restricted firearm

• Possession of a weapon contrary to order (x2)

• Possession of stolen property exceeding $5,000

• Possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine)

Grey is set to appear at High Prairie Provincial Court on March 9.
