Feb 19, 2020 | 11:28 AM

Grande Prairie Athletics @ Manning Comets

The Manning Comets evened their series with the Grande Prairie Athletics at a game apiece following a 2-1 overtime victory.

Late in the first period, the Athletics would jump on the board first following a Max McNeil goal to give them a 1-0 lead.

In the second the Comets would respond four minutes into the second frame to even the game up at one.

The third frame saw no scoring and would then head to overtime.

Early in the extra frame, Taylor Paulovich would tap home the winner for the Comets to give them the game two victory

Game three is set for 8:30 p.m. Thursday night at the Coke Centre.

The Athletics will also be getting their top scorer back in Braden Crone for that game. Crone had been serving a two game suspension following the match penalty he picked up in the A’s regular season finale on January 30.

Dawson Creek Canucks @ Grimshaw Huskies

Dawson Creek continued their dominance of the NPHL Tuesday defeating the Grimshaw Huskies 6-1 to take a 2-0 series lead.

There was no scoring in the first, but the second saw the Huskies get on the board first after a powerplay goal from Josh Peters 8:56 in to make it 1-0.

The Huskies were able to hold their lead for as long as possible, but the Canucks would tie the game up at 1-1 after a Matt Schmermund goal on the powerplay with two minutes remaining in the period.

In the third Canucks forward Liam Craig scored two minutes into the period, which was one of five unanswered goals in the third to lead the Canucks to a 2-0 series lead.

Game three is set for Thursday at 8:30 p.m. back in Dawson Creek.
