Feb 21, 2020 | 2:20 PM

Volleyball:

GPRC volleyball teams are home to Kings University on Friday and Saturday, as they close out their regular-season schedules.

This weekend is huge for the women’s team. After they were swept last weekend against the NAIT Ooks the Wolves find themselves two points behind NAIT for the fourth and final playoff spot.

The Wolves need help from NAIT, but they also need to show up against a Kings team that’s also eyeing that final playoff spot. Kings is tied with the Wolves in the standings with 14 points.

The ball is in NAIT’s court, as they open up their weekend series against last-place Concordia University, who haven’t won in 14 straight games. A weekend sweep will clinch the playoff spot for them.

Meanwhile Men’s volleyball looks to close out their season on a positive note.

The Wolves find themselves in a tie for last in the standings with 10 points, and all playoff spots in the division have been accounted for. Kings are ranked second in the division and could take over first place this weekend in Grande Prairie.

The women’s game is set for 6:00 p.m., the men play after at 8:00 p.m.

Basketball:

The men’s team look to build momentum into next season as they travel to play Edmonton to play the Kings.

The men are coming off an 85-81 overtime victory against Concordia two weekends ago. Since they played Keyano College on the weekend of January 24-25 the team has gone 3-3, which is one of their best stretches of the season.

On the women’s side, they’ll look to get their first win since November 15.
