Storm drop 12th straight, fall to seventh in North
A three goal, first period deficit proved to be too much for the Grande Prairie Storm to come back from, as they fell 3-1 to the Fort McMurray Oil Barons on Friday night.
Konrad Belcourt, Luke Harvie and Michael Hodge scored for the Oil Barons, who leap frogged the Storm into sixth place in the AJHL North division in what was their final game of the regular season.
Brett Meerman would score his eighth of the season late in the second to get the Storm on the board, but that would be the only shot that would beat Evan Fradette on the night, as he made 31 saves in the Oil Barons net.
Meanwhile, Lars Kaliel stopped 23 shots in the Storm goal.
