Submission deadline extended for Reel Shorts Film Festival’s local producers
Peace Country film makers will have a little bit more time to submit their entry for this year’s Reel Shorts Film Festival.
Over 5,100 entries from over 133 countries were submitted prior the regular deadline at the end of November, but the organizing committee has extended the deadline for films made in the Peace Region, or films made by Peace Region residents, to Friday, March 6.
The films must be between 2-31 minutes in length and have completed production between January 1, 2018 and present day. The films must be premieres for the Grande Prairie audience, meaning it cannot have been screened previously in the Peace Country. They are also not eligible if they have been made available to the public, through channels such as Telus STORYHIVE and YouTube.
80-plus filmmakers who have their project selected to be shown will be paid screening royalties, and will be eligible for both juried and audience awards.
