Parking ban in effect as City crews clear residential roads

Mar 3, 2020 | 11:49 AM

City of Grande Prairie work crews are out this week, clearing residential roads of snow and ice.

Between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., crews are making their way through residential neighbourhoods, and removing snow from the roads.

On Monday, they were in Crystal Heights, Crystal Landing, Hillside, Ivy Lake Estates, Mountview, Summit, and VLA/Montrose.

Today, crews are working in Country Club Estates, Countryside North and South, Country Club West, Patterson and South Patterson, Southview, and Signature Falls.

Tomorrow, the roads in Avondale, Cobblestone, College Park, Fieldbrook, Highland Park, Riverstone, Smith, and Swanavon will be cleared.

On Thursday, Mission Heights, O’Brien Lake, Pinnacle Ridge, Stone Ridge, and Westpointe will see crews removing snow.

Roads in Arbour Hills, Copperwood, Crystal Lake Estates, Crystal Ridge, Gateway, Lakeland, Northridge, and Royal Oaks will be cleared on Friday.

If the neighbourhood isn’t cleared during the day, crews will return the following week to complete the work.

Meanwhile, City crews continue to plow and sand priority 1, 2 and 3 routes.

A parking ban on all permanent snow routes is in effect while the snow clearing work is underway.

From Monday to Friday, between 7 a.m and 9 p.m., parking is not allowed on snow routes. Cars parked in those areas may be ticketed and/or towed.

Anyone with questions on snow removal may contact the Citizen Contact Centre at 780-538-0300. More information can also be found on the City of Grande Prairie’s website.
