Major Midget Storm season ends, mixed results for PCFAC teams

The Ernie’s Sports Experts Major Midget AAA Storm saw a promising season come to a disappointing end on Friday night.

The Storm fell 4-3 to Fort Saskatchewan in the fifth and deciding game of their AMHL North Division semi final series.

The Rangers now move on to face St Albert in the North final.

Meanwhile, the Midget AA Storm are now 1-0-1 in the NAHL Milltech Group Division 1 playoffs in Peace River.

After opening with a 4-4 tie against Fort mcMurray on Thursday, the AA Midget Storm beat Whitecourt 6-4 on Friday.

Denon Bamber scored three times for the Storm, while Aiden Brown (2) and Jaydon Gordey had the other goals.

The Storm will face Peace River (1-1) in their final round robin game on Saturday.

Charlieze Sallis scored both goals, including the winner in overtime, as the PCFAC Female midget elite Storm beat the Edmonton Pandas 2-1 in the opener of their North division semi final series.

Game two in the best of three series goes Saturday night in Edmonton.

Meanwhile, the Bonnett’s PCFAC Bantam Female elite Storm fell 7-0 to Sherwood Park in the opener of their best of three North semi final series.

Game two is Saturday afternoon in Sherwood Park.
