Athletics look to push Canucks to brink in game four of NPHL final
After dropping game one last Tuesday, the Grande Prairie Athletics have strung together back to back wins in games two and three against the Dawson Creek Canucks and hold a 2-1 series lead heading into game four tonight at the Coca-Cola Centre.
The Athletics have found their offensive rhythm scoring 14 goals in their last two games.
They have six players sitting in the top seven in the league scoring for the playoffs, including Adam Boytnick, who leads the way for the Athletics with 11 points in seven games.
A’s goaltender and league MVP Kiefer Smiley has also been good for the team. In his eight playoff starts, Smiley has a 6-2 record with two shutouts and a goal against average of 1.84, the best in the NPHL playoffs.
