Grande Prairie Rotary Club hosting Rotary Day on Saturday
Grande Prairie’s Rotary Club is hosting their annual Rotary Day this Saturday at the D-Coy Armouries.
The day brings together 160 club and community members from around Grande Prairie to help create meals for community members and families in need. People of all ages can be found lending a hand making meals.
In previous years, the club had partnered with an American company and made $100,000 worth of meals for people in need. While the number of meals created was generous, those meals weren’t distributed back into the local community.
“Previously when we did the packaging program, it was taken somewhere else in the world, which is still good to do, but it’s more an international program at that point,” said Tyla Savard, the President-Elect of the Rotary Club of Grande Prairie.
