Grande Prairie RCMP investigating break-ins at County Fire Halls

Grande Prairie RCMP are investigating break and enters at two fire halls in the County.

In the early morning hours of March 2, RCMP say they responded a break and enter at the Sexsmith Fire Hall. The suspect was wearing a mask, and gained entry to the hall, leaving with a green and black portable radio and a laptop.

On March 12 at 4 a.m., two male suspects forcibly entered the Bezanson Fire Hall and were said to be Caucasian and wearing gloves and masks.

Several items were taken from the Bezanson Fire Hall, including:

  • soft body armour with the words ‘Fire’ across chest x3
  • extrication tools
  • Stihl chainsaws
  • Milwaukee cordless tools
  • Honda generator
  • Hotsy pressure washer

RCMP say the estimated total value of the items taken is between $30,000 to $40,000.
