OTTAWA – The message from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Tuesday morning stressed the need for Canadians to stay safe by enacting social distancing practices and to help their neighbours by doing so.

“Canada, let’s work together,” said Trudeau from the front lawn of his official residence in Ottawa where he is in self-isolation following his wife’s diagnosis with COVID-19.

“Stay home. Don’t go out unless you absolutely have to,” said Trudeau.

Details of domestic aid packages weren’t yet available – but they’re coming, said the prime minister, with more information coming later this week.
