Peace Wapiti Public School Division to provide online resources and tools during class cancellations

Mar 19, 2020 | 1:56 PM

The Peace Wapiti Public School Division says they are taking additional steps to provide resources for families during the closure of schools due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The school division says due to the cancellation of classes, their curriculum and e-learning staff have been working to coordinate learning assistance for families and students.

On Wednesday, grade-specific online resources were launched for schools. The school division would like to clarify that they will be contacting families to give instructions for accessing the resources and tools.

“Once Alberta Education provides further direction, PWPSD will be able to activate the plan to support student learning. After this occurs, schools will be contacting families to provide further instructions.”

PWPSD says they want to remind families to not call and ask, as the appropriate contact will be initiated by the schools.

They say all schools, offices and shops will be locking their doors to the public, but facilities will continue to be staffed.
