First two COVID-19 cases confirmed in Grande Prairie
The City of Grande Prairie officially has two confirmed cases of COVID-19, the first reported cases in the Swan City by the province.
Dr. Deena Hinshaw announced Friday that 49 new cases of the novel coronavirus have been confirmed in the province, bringing the total to 195. Today’s announcement is the largest single day increase in confirmed cases in the province.
Dr. Hinshaw also announced that the province’s first three patients to recover from the virus have been confirmed.
The North Zone now has 17 confirmed cases of the virus. The High Prairie area has four confirmed cases, while the Slave Lake area has three. No other regions in the immediate vicinity of Grande Prairie have confirmed cases.
