UPDATE: Snowfall warning ended for Grande Prairie area

Mar 22, 2020 | 3:59 PM

UPDATE (11:00 a.m. March 24): The snowfall warning for the Grande Prairie area has ended. A warning still remains in place for the Fox Creek and Whitecourt area at this time.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Grande Prairie area, including Beaverlodge, the County of Grande Prairie and Valleyview.

The warning is also in effect for the Fox Creek and Whitecourt area, as well as Grande Cache.

The weather office says a period of snowfall with amounts around 10-15 centimetres is expected to start falling overnight and will continue to fall through Monday. It is expected the snow will begin to taper off by Tuesday morning.

“Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions,” the weather office says. “Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.”
