Mar 27, 2020 | 1:19 PM

There is a winter storm warning and snow squall watch out for the BC Peace.

The winter storm warning says snow will start this afternoon and that there could be 30 to 40 centimetres by Sunday.

The wind will be between 30 and 40 kilometres an hour, with gusts up to 60.

Environment Canada says a snow squall is when heavy and blowing snow combine to reduce visibility.

The weather office says the Grande Prairie, Beaverlodge, Valleyview area might see rain and snow this afternoon, and up to five centimetres of snow tonight. The wind will be at 30 kilometres an hour, with gusts up to 50.

Another five to 10 centimetres of snow is expected Saturday with more wind.

The Fairview, Peace River, High Prairie, and Manning area could see two to four centimetres of snow this afternoon, five tonight, and two to four tomorrow. Wind gusts could also reach 50 this afternoon.
