AHEIA makes Alberta Fishing Education Program available free of charge

The Alberta Hunter Education Instructors’ Association is making its Alberta Fishing Education program available online and free to the public.

The release of the program is for those who are self-isolating because of COVID-19. It normally costs $40.

Robert Gruszecki with the Alberta Hunter Education Instructors’ Association says the program is great for those interested in learning about the province’s wildlife.

“We feel now is the perfect time to release the Alberta Fishing Education Program for free, so that all Albertans can take advantage of this extra time they may have found themselves with while they self-isolate or quarantine at home away from school and work.”

The program is the only program of its kind offered in North America. Its purpose is to provide confidence through understanding to better enable more people to responsibly spend time outdoors and enjoy and preserve the province’s wildlife.

Those interested in the program can find it on their website.
