4-H extends event suspensions date

Apr 7, 2020 | 3:10 PM

4-H Alberta says all sanctioned activities have been suspended through May 31.

That includes everything at the club, district, regional, and provincial levels.

4-H Alberta says in a statement on its Facebook page that it recognizes and appreciates the time put in by everyone on programming, but it feels continuing the suspension is the best way to stop the spread of the virus and the best way to keep 4-H activities safe for kids.

The suspension had originally been set to run through April 14.

Members still have until the end of the current club year, September 30, to complete requirements.

Those in charge of livestock shows and sales are being asked to come up with non-in-person ways for these events to take place.

There are also several activities included on a new tab on the Alberta 4-H web page called At Home with 4-H.

Peace Regional 4-H had already cancelled its Spring Rally that was set for April 25 in Teepee Creek.
