Four individuals have been arrested and are facing charges after a drug seizure.

On April 3, the Grande Prairie RCMP Municipal Drug Unit, with help from the Beaverlodge, Dawson Creek and Fort St. John RCMP executed search warrants on three residences and two vehicles.

Police say following a lengthy investigation, the searches resulted in a seizure of a significant number of drugs, including approximately 1.2 kg of cocaine, 6.8 kg of crystal methamphetamine, about 914 grams of fentanyl, approximately 1700 fentanyl tablets, about 635 Xanax bars, and about $20,000 in Canadian currency.

Two individuals from Fort St. John, and a 25-year-old man and 58-year-old man, both from the Lower Mainland in B.C, are now facing charges.

Their names have not been released.

RCMP say the investigation revealed the drugs found were meant to go to northern B.C. and Alberta.

The searches are related to searches done in 2019 by the Grande Prairie RCMP Municipal Drug Unit.

On January 8 of 2019, Grande Prairie RCMP conducted a search at an apartment on the west side of the city after receiving tips from the public about a possible drug house.

The search turned up approximately $600,000 worth of illegal drugs, including around four kg of crystal methamphetamine, 2.2 kg of cocaine, 200 grams of heroin, about 5500 Oxycodone tablets, 950 fentanyl tablets. Two handguns and $93,880.00 in Canadian currency.

On March 17 of 2019, the Grande Prairie RCMP Municipal Drug Section, the RCMP Police Dog Services, ALERT and Grande Prairie General Duty members executed two search warrants in the City of Grande Prairie and Town of Wembley after an investigation.

As a result of the March searches, charges were laid against 24-year-old George Osbaldo Godoy-Guerra of Surrey, British Columbia.
