Two more COVID-19 related fatalities at McLennan care home Sunday
The province is reporting two individuals have died from complications related to COVID-19 in the M.D. of Smoky River area over the last 24 hours. An Alberta Health spokesperson has confirmed to EverythingGP that both individuals were residents of the Manoir du Lac Continuing Care facility in McLennan.
There have now been four fatalities at that facility since an outbreak was declared back on April 2.
A total of four individuals have died in Alberta over the last 24 hours, raising the total number of fatalities to 44. The other two deaths were residents of the McKenzie Towne Continuing Care Centre in Calgary.
Three new cases of COVID-19 were also discovered in the M.D. of Smoky River area Sunday, which includes the communities of McLennan, Falher, Girouxville and Donnelly. There are now 32 confirmed cases in that area, 21 of which are active (seven recovered and four fatalities).
