WATCH: Provincial officials provide COVID-19 update for April 17

Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, and other provincial officials will provide an update on the COVID-19 situation in Alberta Friday afternoon. The press conference is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
As of April 16, there have been 2,158 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Alberta. 107 of those cases have been confirmed in Northern Alberta, though that is only up to date as of April 14 because of an electrical fire at the provincial data centre that has stopped the flow of regional data reporting since then.
