A Fox Creek man is facing charges after a report led to drugs being seized.

On April 15, Fox Creek RCMP responded to a report of a male trying to sell drugs in the Town of Fox Creek.

A traffic stop occurred, where drugs, money and bear spray were found, and a man was arrested. A search was then done at a residence in the town where more drugs were found.

A total of $53,234 and 120 grams of cocaine were seized from both the traffic stop and the search warrant.

Fifty-nine-year-old Salahadin Omar Idris is now facing charges, including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a prohibited device without a license, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, carrying a concealed weapon and two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.

Idris was released from custody and is to appear in Fox Creek Provincial Court on June 22, 2020.
