U.S. born defenceman Jakob Karpa signs Letter of Intent with Storm

The Grande Prairie Storm have signed defenceman Jakob Karpa to a Letter of Intent to play with the Storm for the 2020-2021 season.

The 5’11” 175-pound 18-year-old defenceman is from Woodridge, Illinois and spent last season playing in Detroit for Victory Honda U18 of the U.S. Tier 1 Elite Hockey League.

Karpa finished last season with seven goals and 27 assists for 34 points in 65 games.

Karpa has also spent time playing at the Shattuck St. Mary’s School in Minnesota, known for its hockey program.
